Roughnecks Top West Rusk, Advance To Championship

White Oak took advantage of a fouth quarter Raider shooting slump to post a 60-48 win in semi-final play of the Dan Noll Classic Monday.

White Oak moved the ball around well from the tip-off, driving well and finding open men in the lane consistently, ending the first quarter leading by six points.

In the second quarter, a pressing Raider defense disrupted the 'Neck's rhythm, forcing turnovers that ended as easy lay-ups for West Rusk. The half ended with the Raiders shaving White Oaks lead down to 4 points.

With halftime adjustments made, the third quarter was an evenly matched street fight, and hard fought post shots resulted in players on the floor almost every possession.

But the 4th quarter was all Roughneck.

White Oak's Taylor Carr caught fire, draining two three pointers from the left side, and West Rusk lost their touch in the lane, missing numerous two pointers from the paint.

Despite losing starting guard Blake Ware to fouls, White Oak dominated underneath and outside, outscoring the Raiders 18-11 in the final eight minutes.
