Hooks Girls Blow Out Union Grove, Take 3rd In Quitman Tournament

Lady Lions have trouble finding a rhythm in 46-19 loss.

Coming into this third place match, no one had any doubt that the Hooks Lady Hornets could post big numbers. They won big over New Diana in their first tournament game, 50-31, and put 35 points up in a losing effort against Quitman.

Union Grove's Lady Lions had shown some scoring skills, as well. Despite losing their first match of the tournament to Hughes Springs 36-42, Union Grove hit the floor fresh off a 40-28 win over the Quitman JV.

Records aside, the Lions never found their scoring groove against Hooks. The Lady Hornets scored early and often, holding Union Grove scoreless in the first quarter, and to single digits in the remaining three.

Leading 23-6 at the half, the Hornets would go on to outscore the Lions 23-13 in the second half.
