New Diana Girls Drop One To Elysian Fields

Lady Eagles let a third quarter lead slip away, lose to Lady 'Jackets 36-49

DIANA, TX, Jan. 30, 2009 -- Despite turning an point half time deficit into a comfortable lead after 3 quarters, Diana's Lady Eagle couldn't hold on to the win in the fourth period.

Trailing by nine points at the half, the Eagles battled back, outscoring the Lady 'Jackets 23-6 in the third, and appeared on track to notch their first district win of the season, but it was not to be.

Elysian Fields returned the favor in the last frame, outscoring Diana 25-4 for their 6th district win. With a (6-5) 18-2A record, the Lady 'Jackets are within striking distance of a third place play-off spot behind White Oak at (7-2).

Teriel Dixon led the Lady Eagles in scoring with 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. She was followed by Kelsey Southern with six points.
