Lady 'Necks Clinch Playoff Berth

White Oak girls win big over Lady Eagles, 64-24

WHITE OAK, TX, Feb 3, 2009 -- The White Oak Lady 'Necks clinched a playoff spot tonight with the same pressure defense and dominant inside play that propelled them to win over New Diana the first time the two teams met.

The Eagles had trouble keeping a handle on the ball, and the 'Necks took advantage of the problem, blocking shots, stealing passes and transforming turnovers into fast-break scores again and again.

White Oak held new Diana to single digits in all quarters, and led 38-10 at the break. The scoring was even in the third, but any hope of a Diana comeback were crushed by a 19 point White oak scoring frenzy in the fourth.

The Lady 'Necks will look to extend a four game winning streak against Harleton on the road Friday night.

The Lady Eagles will face another play-off bound Friday when they travel to Sabine to take on the Lady Cardinals. That elusive first district win won't come easy in Gladewater.
