New Diana Falls Hard To Sabine

Giving Coach Tim Davis his 300th career win, Sabine swarmed all over the Eagles in a 73-26 win

GLADEWATER, TX, Feb. 6, 2009 -- The Eagles never knew what hit them tonight. Falling victim to a lightning fast Sabine defensive effort that stymied Eagle scoring and allowed the Cardinals to score 20 unanswered points and run up a 32-4 first quarter lead.

Sabine's Noah Jackson had a big hand in that deficit, hitting three shots from outside the arc in the first eight minutes of play.

Sabine held Diana to just two points in the second quarter, and took a 46-6 lead into the half.

Second half play was more favorable to the Eagles, and they paced the Cardinals, scoring 20 points to Sabine's 27.

Jackson led all scorers with 31 points, followed by teammates Colton Kirk with 16 points and Tyler Woodrell with 14.

Eric Dixon led the Eagle scoring with seven.
