White Oak Falls To Rusk, 64-71

Rusk's Cornellous Lewis lit up the scoreboard for 29 points, followed by fellow Eagle Kalen Skinner for 17, as Rusk defeated White Oak in pool play of the Last Man Standing tournament tonight.

Gladewater -- 18-2A White Oak started with a strong first quarter, outscoring 18-3A Rusk 21-10, and it looked like an upset was in the making. Rusk would have none of it, however. The Eagles fought back, scoring 25 points and surging past the Roughnecks to lead at the half 35-33.

After the break, the game momentum again shifted to White Oak, and at the end of the third, the Roughnecks led 54-49. But in the end, the battle of the surges would go to Rusk.

They would score 22 in the last quarter, holding the Roughnecks to 11, to pocket the win.

Taylor Goll was the high scorer for White Oak with 16 points.
