This Week's High School Basketball Games

Hughes Springs ladies sit solidly atop 17-2A, while the White Oak boys scrap with Sabine for a share of #1 in 18-2A

Feb. 10, 2009 -- The Hughes Springs girls (11-0) have the top seed in 17-2A sewn up, leaving Chapel Hill (MP), Queen City and Daingerfield to fight over the 2nd and 3rd spots. In 18-2A, Sabine's Lady Cardinals owns first, and White Oak's Ladynecks are trailing Harmony for 2nd. A loss by White Oak to #1 Sabine Tuesday would put Harmony in solid command of second.

The spotlight boys game will be in 18-2A Tuesday, with Sabine at White Oak. A Sabine win would guarantee a 1st place finish for the Cardinals, currently ranked #3 statewide. New Diana looks to get back on track on track after the two losses last week to Sabine and White Oak in Tuesday's game against Union Grove.

In 17-2A, Jefferson has a narrow lead on the top spot, but could lose that hold in Friday's game against Daingerfield.
