Sabine Dominates Elysian Fields 60-24

Sabine, ranked 4th in statewide 2A schools, improves their record to 23-3 on the year, 3-0 in district play.

SABINE Jan. 9, 2009 -- Sabine rolled up the lopsided win against an under-staffed Yellowjacket team, with Elysian Fields only suiting up five players for the game.

The Yellowjackets, held to single digits in all four quarters, are struggling this year, with an 0-3 record in division play.

They lost their division opener to White Oak 35-65, and dropped the next game to New Diana, 32-54.

Sabine's Lie'Quan Byrd and Noah Jackson tied with 14 points to lead all scorers. Both players netted 4 three-pointers in the game.

Elysian Field's Keyante Byrd paced the Yellowjackets with 12 points.

Sabine will try to extend their ten game winning streak Tuesday, when they travel to New Diana to take on the Eagles, 2-1, coming off a close loss to White Oak, 50-58.

Elysian Fields will be looking for their first division win when they host Winona Friday.
