Daingerfield Blasts Blanco 43-7

The Daingerfield Tigers brought their "A" game to Irving Stadium last night, stunning a strong Blanco team in the Class 2A Div 2 semi-finals.

By the end of the first quarter, Koko Smith had introduced himself to the Blanco squad, and the Tigers were up by 14. They would never look back.

Blanco scored their only touchdown in the second quarter, a seven yard run by Kevin Gray. Daingerfield would score once more before the half, taking a 21-7 lead into the lockers.

Resuming play in the second half, Daingerfield seemed determined to prove they were for real, scoring on their first three possessions of the last half.

The Tigers will now face the winner of the Cisco - Pottsboro matchup, that game to be played today at 6:00 p.m. Both of those teams will place 13-1 records on the line.

Daingerfield now boast a 14-1-0 record on the year, their only loss going to Gilmer, a 3A playoff contender that lost to Carthage last week.
