Daingerfield Skins New Waverly 61-14

Another local team moves on in the playoff picture.

Daingerfield's Blue Tigers stunned New Waverly, scoring early and often.

The Tigers drew first blood, posting their first touchdown with less than a minute gone in the first quarter. The point after failed.

New Waverly answered right back, and the score was NW 7, Daingerfield 6 with 10:00 minutes left in the opening quarter.

The Tigers then went on a tear, and the quarter ended 28-7.

New Waverly scored again in the second quarter, and the score stood at 28-14. It would be the Bulldog's last addition to the score.

Daingerfield's Koko Smith had five touchdowns by halftime, and the Tigers went into the lockers with a 48-14 lead.

Daingerfield returned an interception for a score in the third, and Tony Johnson tacked on a TD run late in the third quarter. New Waverly was held scoreless the last half.

Daingerfield faces Newton in Carthage next Saturday at 2:00p.m.
