Local Fishing Reports Nov 20th, 2008

Early week rains have water levels up everywhere, with stained to clear conditions. The crappie are turned on all over the county, and bass remain active.

Lake Gladewater - Richard Ross, City of Gladewater Lake Warden, reports that the rain early this week raised the lake level 3". Water is clear. Good crappie fishing on minnows and jigs. Light traffic for bass, with a few catfish taken from the dock on earthworms on the bottom.

Bob Sandlin - Water fairly clear; 52-57 degrees; 0.47' low. Black bass are fair on wacky rigs, Rat-L-Traps and 5" watermelon/red flake Yum Dingers. White bass are fair to good on slabs and Rooster Tails. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs around the Hwy 21 bridge columns a few cranks off the bottom. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cut bait.

Lake O' The Pines - Water stained; 53-58 degrees; 0.19' high. Black bass are fair to good on chatterbaits, Texas rigs, flukes and wacky rigs. Crappie are good on minnows over brush piles. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers and cut shad. Bream are fair to good on red wigglers.
