White Oak Roughs Up New Diana
Roughnecks roll up a lopsided 72-38 win
WHITE OAK, TX, Feb. 3, 2009 -- The White Oak Roughnecks had no intentions of giving up a share of the 2nd spot in division 18-2A basketball tonight.
In a physical match that often resembled a football game, they pressured the New Diana squad relentlessly, forcing 26 turnovers and denying the Eagles their usual ball control offense.
For their part, Diana tried the zone and man-to man coverage, but White Oak had the three point range dialed in, and made the Eagles pay from outside the arc all night.
Eric Dixon lead the Eagles scoring with 12 points, followed by Ryne Powell with ten points. White Oak player stats were not available.
Team | Q1 | Q2 | Q3 | Q4 | OT | Tot |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
White Oak | 13 | 20 | 21 | 18 | 72 | |
New Diana | 4 | 7 | 7 | 20 | 38 |
Both teams will be on the road for their next contest. White Oak will square off against Harleton Friday, and New Diana will face Sabine in Gladewater.
