Gladewater Hands Big Sandy Second Round Loss In Last Man Standing Tourney

After loosing both of their pool play matches Thursday, the Gladewater Bears are 2-0 in bracket play, and in the hunt for the tournament title.

Gladewater's 25 point first quarter, outscoring Big Sandy by 10, was too much for Coach Tobin Reid's 20-1A1 Wildcats to overcome Friday. In the win, Denzell Boone led the Bears with 13.

The teams played evenly the last three quarters of the game, with Big Sandy's Howe leading all scorers with 20, followed by teammate Montgomery with 14.

In first round bracket play, Gladewater defeated Rusk. Big Sandy was idle.

Gladewater takes on tournament host Sabine at 10:00am Saturday in the Sabine High gym.

Big Sandy and Central Heights will square off 9:00am Saturday on the West Rusk High School court.
